Swarovski Crystal Jewelry:: Industrial Elegance Planetary Series

I thought I would do a post here about the Industrial Elegance Planetary Series which I have been spending soooo much time on lately! I wanted to show them all together here.

I will only be making 3 different versions of each planet (3 different necklaces & 3 different earrings) Each version will have a different name...
Version 1: (Planet Name)
Version 2: (planet name) Revisited
Version 3: (planet name) Departure

Each version will be completely original in design...

Sol::
Our Sun, the star at the center of our solar system which all of the planets orbit... without it life on earth would not be possible.

Mercury::
the closest planet to the Sun, named after the swift footed messenger god which they
equated with the Greek Hermes, because it moves across the sky faster than any other planet.

Venus::
The second-closest planet to the Sun, orbiting it every 224.7 Earth days. The planet is named after Venus, the Roman goddess of love. Except for the Moon it is the brightest natural object in the night sky

Earth::
the third planet from the Sun, and the largest of the terrestrial planets in the Solar System in terms of diameter, mass and density. It is also referred to as th
e World, Blue Planet,and Terra.

(earth revisited sold but the buyer never paid for it so it has been relisted)

Earth Departure Coming soon...

Mars::
The fourth planet from the Sun in the Solar System. The planet is named after Mars, the Roman god of war. Referred to as the "Red Pla
net"

Jupiter::
The fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet within the Solar System… Named after the Roman god Jupiter or Jove, king of the gods, and the god of sky and thunder.

Saturn::
The sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest planet in the Solar System. Named after th
e Roman god Saturnus (that became the namesake of Saturday), equated to the Greek Kronos (the Titan father of Zeus) the Babylonian Ninurta and to the Hindu Shani. Saturn's symbol represents the god's sickle .

Neptune::
The eighth planet from the Sun. Named for the Roman god of the sea, it is the fourth
-largest planet by diameter and the third-largest by mass.

Neptune II coming soon...

Uranus::
The seventh planet from the Sun, and the third-largest and fourth most massive planet in the Solar System. It is named after the ancient Greek deity of the sky Uranus the father of Kronos (Saturn) and grandfather of Zeus (Jupiter).

Pluto::
The second-largest known dwarf planet in the solar system, Like the other planets (or former planet in this case), Pluto is named for a Roman god. The Greek equivalent of Pluto is Hades

****Please Note: The retaining rings used to create these pieces were not made for jewelry, they are hardware for keeping pins in machinery so there will be color variations, I do my best to completely match the rings to each other but sometimes it just isn't possible... the fact that they are not uniform in color and cosistancy adds to the charm of these pieces and just reinforces the overall "Industrial" look

If you love the design of any of these pieces but would like them with different colored crystals please don't hesitate to contact me. As always, clicking on the pictures of the items (the ones that are not sold that is) will take you directly to the Etsy listing.

Thanks for stopping by, I would LOVE to hear what you think about the whole collection!

New Industrial Elegance Earrings...

Happy Valentines Day!

When I got these new Blue Zircon Swarovski hearts I could not WAIT to make something with them. I just knew that the fist thing I made with them had to be something for my Industrial Elegance line. As I said in earlier posts the black rings in this set are retaining rings from Home Depot (sometimes called "C" rings) and they are used in machinery to help keep pins from sliding out. I think they are put to much better use in jewelry!

I used three different sized retaining rings (top: 1/4" middle: 5/16" bottom: 1/2") and strung them all together with 4mm gunmetal jump rings then I put 4mm blue zircon bicones in the top two rings and in the bottom one I used a 6mm bicone then I finished the whole thing off with the 10mm blue zircon ab Swarovski heart. These crystals are a very vivid blue green color, kind of like super charged aquamarine and they really stand out against the black of the retaining rings. they are on gunmetal hooks and the whole earring from hook to the bottom of the heart is 2 inches. This set has an almost liquid look to it, the earrings will sway with every subtle movement of your head setting off the sparkle of the crystals... These would look beautiful on YOU! lol

As always, if you would like to own these earrings or would like the see the actual listing simply click on any of the pictures to be taken to the Etsy listing. If you like them but would like to see them in a different color please don't hesitate to contact me!

* These earrings are also available in my ArtFire sutdio... Click Here to be taken to the listing.

Industrial Elegance Continued...

Here is the necklace and earring set made out of the same kind of retaining rings as the post below... The overall response I have had to my new industrial line has been great! This necklace is 3 small retaining rings with emerald Swarovski hearts and bicones, it's a real attention getter and you won't find this design anywhere else.

Again, if you would like to purchase this item or see more pictures click on the image and it will take you directly to the EBay listing.

Industrial Elegance...

I am always on the lookout for new and original items to use in my jewelry creations, I want my items to really stand out and when I discover a new component my imagination goes wild!

These earrings are without a doubt some of my favorites, if you look closely you will see that the black loops are actually retaining rings (sometimes called "C" rings), you know the things you can get at Home Depot or Ace Hardware? They are usually used to help keep pins from slipping out of all sorts of machinery. I just happened to be in Home Depot one day, looking for some sort of hardware (I am ALWAYS looking for something so I can fix something at home) and I happened upon the drawer that had these rings in a wide array of sizes... well the gears in my head started turning right away, I had a ton of ideas going through my head as to how I could use them in my jewelry creations! I bought a whole handful of them and when I got home I totally lost all inspiration! It took me close to a week to finally come up with some ideas as to what I could do with them, I didn't want to rush it, and I wanted them to be just right. I was extremely pleased with how they turned out. These earrings are really delicate looking, yet they have a very sturdy feel to them, they really make a bold statement... they are constructed of a single retaining ring, 2mm gunmetal rolo chain with 4mm Emerald AB 2x Swarovski Bicones and a single 2mm Crystal AB Swarovski Bicone in the center. This design has sold very well at the craft fairs I have done, once people realize what they are made with they can't seem to get enough of them!

These earrings are simple yet very eye catching, 2 different sized retaining rings with a single 10mm Olivine AB Swarovski heart at the bottom, I just love the way the olive green contrasts with the black metal.

Both of these sets are very industrial looking yet, at the same time, very fashionable and unique, truly some of my most imaginative designs!

If you would like to purchase either of these earrings they can be found on my EBay site, simply click on the picture of the pair you like to be taken directly to the listing.

Check back soon, I will be featuring a necklace and earring set made out of the same components, I can't show you today because it sold at my last craft fair, I made it the night before and it was the first thing that sold when the fair opened!
